What is Eyelid Surgery?
Lower and Upper Eyelid Surgery improves the appearance of the eyelids, giving a rejuvenated look. The procedure makes the eyelids to look more rested and alert.
During the aging process, the region around the eyes ages faster than other areas. In one’s youth, there is a large amount of fat surrounding the eyes. During the aging process, fat will either descend downward or completely disappear. In youth, fat and underlying muscles act as fillers, creating volume.
Often, Dr. Hakki will perform a
Temporal Brow Lift instead of a conventional brow lift when he performs eyelid surgery. The temporal brow lift only addresses the temporal area and the sides of the upper brow, areas that need elevation the most. A temporal brow lift is often needed before upper eyelid surgery, limiting the trimming required to make one’s eyes look younger.
A mid-face fat transfer is often needed before lower eyelid surgery. This also limits the trimming of the fat pad required to make the face look younger and less tired. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Hakki to determine which procedure is best for you.
